distance from Whittier to Seward

We are renting a car from Avis in Whittier and we are headed for Seward. How long is the drive? We were thinking of doing the all day long cruise with Kenai Fjords; but we don't think we will make it there by 10:00 if we get our rental car at 8:00(and have to wait for the tunnel to open for our direction in Whittier).

Once you're through the tunnel and back on the Seward Hwy it's between an hour and a half and two hours to Seward, more or less depending on how many RVs you get behind or stops for critter gazing, if any. So making it in time for a 10:00 tour departure would be a nail-biter.

No you will not make a 1000 Kenai Fjords tour. I don't think the Avis office even opens until 0800? It is about 2 hours++ on the Seward Highway- Girdwood- Seward without the tunnel. Being you haven't been there before- you will take time finding the parking lot- they shuttle you with Kenai fjords, and getting to the dock. So schedule the 11:30 am trip. Overnight in Seward- I don't recommend this as a day trip.
