floridafunlady Posted September 13, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 13, 2007 we have booked this cabin for january 14. past guest upgrade from 4a. my problem is that my dh does tend to get seasick and I am now wondering if I have made the right decision. the 6a cabin is @ 150.00 more and that money can buy lots of hands in the casino or lots of drinks on the lido, but if he is going to be miserable the savings arent worth it. how much motion do you feel up there. I know there isnt any people traffic causing noise, but what about ship noises. any help would be greatly appreciated
jwlnroe Posted September 13, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 13, 2007 We had an interior on the riviera deck when we sailed. . its been 12 years since that sailing. . my whole family is some what prone to motion sickness(my sister the most) and we never had any problems.. but we had worn the bracelets they have or patches for motion sickness. Also we are usually midship . . as i see your room is at the front on the upper deck so i'm not sure how the movement will be that far to the front - I guess all depends on how calm the water is when you sail. The porthole rooms are nice and if you are only concerned about your husband getting sick I would just ask your doctor for a patch prescription before you leave. . otherwise there are some other threads on the board that talk about how others have dealt with sea sickness. the lower decks are the best and that is only deck 3 so I would think you should be fine. . see what others have to say and check out the other threads that talk about this.
