tombo Posted September 13, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 13, 2007 I'm going on Paul Gauguin on the November 18th sailing. It's the first time for me on RSSC. On other cruises I have taken previously, I have ususally called the cruise line in advance to arrange casino credit. It's not really "credit", but more like an arrangement where you sign a marker when they advance you chips and if you are a net loser in the casino at the end of the cruise, you can write them a check to pay off your loss. I called the RSSC office and was told that their casinos are operated by contractors and that I needed to contact the contractor. I called the number I was given by RSSC and was told that they operate the casinos on the other Regent ships, but not the PG. (They also said that the way it works is that you wire them, in advance, as much money as you want "credit" for on board. After the cruise, they refund you anything you haven't lost. Does anybody know how it really works on PG? It's such a small ship that I can't imagine there's much action in the casino anyway. I just don't like to travel carrying a lot of cash. funandsun05 Posted September 14, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 14, 2007 The casino is tiny! I was on the PG in July of 2005 and very rarely saw much action in the casino. I played blackjack on the lone table and it was rarely full. I'll be on the Nov. 18th cruise as well, so I'm sure I'll see you in the casino! Good luck! :)
micked10@earthlink.net Posted September 19, 2007 #3 Share Posted September 19, 2007 We just returned from our cruise on the PG. The casino is extremely small--about 10 slots, 5 poker slots and 2 black jack tables. I saw very few people in the casino and about 5 people around the blackjack table after dinner. micked10
south seas sue Posted September 19, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 19, 2007 Were there many smokers in the casino? I believe you can smoke in there, and that is a concern of mine......we like to play the slots, but would not go if there are many smokers..... micked10@earthlink.net Posted September 19, 2007 #5 Share Posted September 19, 2007 I only went to the casino twice but walked by it many times and didn't notice any smokers at all. The smell of smoke is very noticeable to me so I am sure I would have noticed it. I actually only saw a few smokers on our entire cruise.
