gammasip Posted September 14, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 14, 2007 I have a question....does anyone know if these ships are the old Celebrity Horizon and Zenith??? I can't seem to find this info anywhere. A friend who is a travel agent says "yes". Thanks....
PSCruiser Posted September 14, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 14, 2007 No, they are not. The Zenith was sent to the Euro company that previously owned the Journey (at that time called the Blue Dream). The Journey and Quest are refurbs of "R" class ships owned by bankrupt Rennasaince Cruise. Same type of ship is operated as Oceania Cruises, also Princess has a few. cruiseyguy Posted September 14, 2007 #3 Share Posted September 14, 2007 No, they most certainly are not. They are what are popularly as "R" ships---previously part of the now-defunct Renaissance Cruise Line.
Albert Ross Posted September 14, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 14, 2007 Celebrity Zenith was sent to Pullmantur in April 07, and they got Blue Dream in return which has been rebranded and become Azamara Journey. Blue Dream started life as R6 when she belonged to Renaissance Cruises; Azamara Quest started life as R7, then became the Blue Moon before being rebranded as Azamara Quest. Celebrity Horizon became Island Cruises' Island Star in 2006.

bububr Posted September 14, 2007 #6 Share Posted September 14, 2007 Your friend (TA) should know that both the Horizon and the Zenith held about 1300 passengers. The Journey and Quest are MUCH smaller at around 600. No offense But I wouldn't book a trip with your friend if they are that out of the loop. mringenoldus Posted September 14, 2007 #7 Share Posted September 14, 2007 Small correction - I believe the passenger count is 710. I agree that this TA must not have very current information regarding the industry.
