ezcheezy Posted August 27, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 27, 2004 I checked Royal Caribbean's web site for our Jan 30 cruise out of Miami on the Radiance and saw the price had been reduced for a Balcony cabin. I called them this morning (I booked my cruise directly through RC) and they told me my credit card would show a $380 credit! I wouldn't have known to watch for price reductions if I hadn't been reading this board! Thanks everyone, drinks are on me. EZ

sscruising Posted August 27, 2004 #4 Share Posted August 27, 2004 That happened to me for my upcoming cruise-it was only $200 though-not as good as yours. Dh will have a Black Russian with raspberry stoly and I'll have a nice Chardonnay thank you! Sandi
jbrewster630 Posted August 27, 2004 #5 Share Posted August 27, 2004 Did anyone of you guys that got the money back book your cruise through a TA? I have an email out to mine for a rebate on my cruise 9/10. It's almost $200. My TA isn't getting back to me. Do you know if you only get this rebate or credit if you book through RCCL? Any help would be appreciated! We leave in 2 weeks! Thanks guys! Joann
gkrebs Posted August 27, 2004 #6 Share Posted August 27, 2004 I have gotten my rebates back from my TA, but I was able to call them about it and gt it immediately confirmed. I have never had to do business with a TA through mail only
jbrewster630 Posted August 27, 2004 #7 Share Posted August 27, 2004 I contacted my TA through email becuase it is more convieniant for me being at work until 5:00. She usually replies faily quickly but for some reason, not on this matter. Since this credit is not available through RCCL website, she may not honor it. Keep me posted! TWELVEOHONE Posted August 27, 2004 #9 Share Posted August 27, 2004 My TA monitors the price to see when they go down. She automatically calls me to let me know.

ezcheezy Posted August 27, 2004 Author #12 Share Posted August 27, 2004 That was fun reading the differant drinks people want and all the differant places we come from. That "Black Russian with raspberry stolie" really sounded interesting. I'm gonna have to try that! (I'm a lightweight so I'll join in with the crackers too!) Cheers, EZ

songe Posted August 27, 2004 #14 Share Posted August 27, 2004 Congratulation! I too got $350 back for my cruise for September. It pays to check the pricing everyday. As soon as I saw the price drop I called my TA right away. It was a lovely suprise.

HappyStamper Posted August 27, 2004 #16 Share Posted August 27, 2004 At what point can I check for price reductions and/or cabin upgrades? Our cruise is 93 days away. I tried last week to do a "fake reservation" to check for a better cabin and our cruise didn't even come up! Does that mean everything is currently reserved and I have to wait until final payments are due to look for cancellations?
Tmmull Posted August 27, 2004 #17 Share Posted August 27, 2004 I just checked the price for our 6/19/05 Grandeur cruise. What a shock! An interior cabin is $1000.00 MORE than our Superior Balcony. I guess it pays to book real early sometimes. :D
Shanafan Posted August 28, 2004 #18 Share Posted August 28, 2004 Sorry I meant $200  Even $22 is a little bonus to pay for a few drinks! By the way--I'd like a bucket of Coronas with lime, please........Lisa :p
Annieeee Posted August 28, 2004 #19 Share Posted August 28, 2004 That is great. Every bit counts, save it towards the next cruise :D . Think I will go and check out the prices on my upcoming booked cruises. Nan

MARSHA E ROS Posted August 28, 2004 #22 Share Posted August 28, 2004 How or where can one go on the web at 2 am in the morning to check prices? My October sailing isn't listed, bet bargains on this one is not likely. Must be sold out!
jbrewster630 Posted August 30, 2004 #23 Share Posted August 30, 2004 I am glad all you guys are getting rebates. My TA told me that she could not honor RCCL special rate for Sept 10 on the Voyager. She said she would be "paying us" to go on vacation if she honored it. She matched an online price when we first booked with her but the special rate is even lower than the price she gave us. But she did offer to take the difference and use it twards our next vacation. Better luck next time! I may even book with the cruise line directly next time. SteveK51 Posted August 30, 2004 #24 Share Posted August 30, 2004 Would someone please explain these rebates? I waited for months to book my cruise at the best rate. If I had booked it earlier was I guranteed the reduced rate? This would be very different fom what I understood.
