cruiztime Posted September 16, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 16, 2007 We had a perfect time on the Infinity to Akaska, inside passage. We used Celebrity wheel chair check in and right from the start things were great. Mum can walk with a walker or cane but it was a great help to get the wheel chair assistance for boarding and leaving. We parked the wheel chair in the cabin and she used her walker for the week. Pictures of the handicap cabin 6004 can be seen on www.cruisemates.com . Staff was very helpful in the Aqua Spa and buffet with her tray. There were many cruisers with walkers on board. Sometimes 8 - 10 walkers lined up along the wall in the dining room. Staff was also very helpful in port. She would walk up the ramps from sea level to town and going down staff would have her sit on her walker and lower her down backwards. Best advice for disembarkation is to have wheel chair assistance leaving the ship and then get a porter at the luggage area. The wheel chairs and porters get priority for the taxi line.
