San Diego Cruizer Posted September 21, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 21, 2007 I am bringing a large group on a 2 day cruise on the Dawn Princess to Ensenada Mexico in May 08. Are the services that are available on regular cruises available for short cruises also? I am particularly intersted in spa services, casinos, show room entertainment, is the dining room open or only buffet? High tea? Has any one gone on these short trips and can give me info!! Thanks in advance!! Terry
Cruzbw Posted September 21, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 21, 2007 I've been on one and three night cruises in the Northwest. Definitely, the dining room is open, and there were shows also. I don't do the casino nor spa, but I've heard people on CC saying the casino is closed on the short Seattle to Vancouver run. But others will have to give you info on the Ensenada cruise. FredS Posted September 21, 2007 #3 Share Posted September 21, 2007 Do a search for "short cruises" or "coastal cruises" and you will find quite a bit of info. We have gone both way on the LA to VAN runs. These have been 3 night cruises and everything operates as on a longer cruise. There were formal pictures and everything was open. There were not the special meals on the short cruises; no Baked Alaska or lobster. There were shows, art auctions, etc. I assume you mean a 2 night cruise which would give time for many activities. Look in the daily Princess Patter.
donna5 Posted September 21, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 21, 2007 On coastals that are at least two days we have had "Afternoon Tea". But if you don't get there at start time, sometimes you are not able to get in because of some real big groups that take up most of the spots. That has happened to us. Entertainment has been scaled down, normally on the short ones they will not have the production shows. The diningroom is normally closed for lunch on day of embarkation.
