du4mch Posted September 21, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 21, 2007 My husband and I are thinking about booking a cruise with NCL Sun. We've sailed on RCI Explorer, Carnival's Glory & Valor, and Golden Princess. We've always found somthing we love about every ship. We have never sailed on a smaller Ship and we are wondering how the entertainment measures up with some of the Larger Ships. Is there live music around the pool area? We always enjoy the Steel Band Music. How are the Shows! We'd really appreciate any info - Thanks!
crew mom Posted September 22, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 22, 2007 There is plenty of entertainment aboard the Sun. You won't be bored! There is a poolside band that plays off and on during the day and the Sun has a nice stage and pool area. Dazzles has a DJ and Karaoke. The Observation Lounge has nightly entertainment / DJ or the ships band. The Stardust Theatre has 3/4 shows performed by the Jean Ann Ryan Company and generally an evening with either a comic, magician or the something along that line of entertainment. Not sure what shows the JAR company is currently doing on the Sun. Perhaps a recent cruiser will fill you in on that info.
Carnac767 Posted September 22, 2007 #3 Share Posted September 22, 2007 I find it rather ironic that the Sun is now considered a "smaller" ship. At a displacement of 73,000 tons, she's about 50% larger than the Titanic's 52,000 tons. It appears that the entertainment lineup on the Sun is nearly identical to what we just had on the Dream and it was pretty good. It was a lot of fun, particulary the JAR shows.
