Anyone booked as a solo for 3/17 Diamond Princess to Hawaii?

Fifteen months after booking, and less than 6 months till the start of the cruise, my cabin mate has decided she will probably cancel. Actually I think it's 100% liklihood that she will. This cabin mate and I have cruised together 4 times in the past.

I still want very much to go on this cruise, and am wondering if there's anyone posting here who is also going solo on this particular sailing. (I'm not looking for anyone to share a cabin with me.) I have been participating in the roll call for this sailing, and have met some very nice people, who are urging me to not cancel. I am seriously considering changing my booking to a solo in an inside cabin (from a great balcony location - Boo Hoo!), because the balcony price as a solo is prohibitive. My feeling is - better inside than not going at all.

I believe I can still enjoy this cruise, even if I go by myself.

Any input from you who have cruised solo before?
