Summit cabin location?

We are considering a 14 nite Panama Canal cruise on the Summit in January.

We can get cabin 6103. It's on the port side of the penthouse deck and the 2nd cabin forward of the mid elevator. It's handicapped and for our Mom who has mobility/balance problems.

Is that one of the cabins that looks down onto the lifeboats? If so, how much of the view downward does the life boat block?

Is it a bad cabin? We've never had a balcony before, always a handicapped OV cabin.

We could also get a "regular" (non handicapped) OV cabin for $1600 less.

Any thoughts pro or con?

I believe that we will be on the same cruise as you (Jan.5).

My wife would not sail unless she had a balancy. Regarding the lifeboats call the Captains Club at Celebrity and ask them.Really the question is not what you can see or can't below you..but rather what your view is right in front of you.

I believe your mother as well as will love the balcany. You can sit outside by just opening the door in your cabin..no long walk.

If you are on the January 5 cruise.. we have our own thread on this site..go and check it out and sign up for the cruise connection party.. Any questions just ask.

Hi Joby!

Here's a link to the "Worst Cabins"

We are on the Jan 5/08 sailing to Panama Canal too (Hi Michael) and our cabin is one level up from 6103 in "almost" the same location! We were told this was a "choice" location...midship... fairly close to the midship elevators for easy access to anywhere on the ship. :D

This will be our first time on Summit but have talked to someone who was in our cabin before...and they were happy with the location.

If you are looking at the Jan 5, 2008 PC cruise...come join our Roll Call.:D

Good Luck!

Pat :)
