Maddie444 Posted August 29, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 29, 2004 This may sound stupid but I hear you all talking about the different classes of ships. ( Conquest, Voyager & Fantasy) How do you tell which class of ship they are. I went to the Carnival web page and couldn't find the answer. I was just wondering. And what is the difference between the classes. I'm either going on the Valor Or the Victory, which class of ship are these? Thank you in advance for any info. kristikae Posted August 29, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 29, 2004 If you go to the virtual tour of each ship it tells what class ship it is. The different class ships, (Fantasy, Conquest, Spirit) have the identical layout as the other ships in their class but different decors. The Valor is a Conquest class ship (the same layout as the Conquest and the Glory) and the Triumph is a Triumph class ship (the same layout as the Victory). Paladin Posted August 29, 2004 #5 Share Posted August 29, 2004 Click on the link to take you to a brief history of Carnival on their website. All the vessels in each class is listed. There used to be a nice chart of all the classes before the website was changed a while back but I can't find it. Enjoy your cruise. http://www.carnival.com/CMS/Articles/history_virtual2.aspx

MrPete Posted August 29, 2004 #8 Share Posted August 29, 2004 Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. Right from their website: 1999 – Debut of the 102,000-ton Carnival Triumph, Carnival’s second “Destiny-class” vessel 2000 – A third “Destiny-class” vessel, the 102,000-ton Carnival Victory, is launched. kristikae Posted August 29, 2004 #9 Share Posted August 29, 2004 But if you go to the individual ships virtual tours it says what class they are. The Triumph and Victory are listed there as Triumph class.

Kittymama Posted August 30, 2004 #16 Share Posted August 30, 2004 The big difference between them is their backs. The Holiday & Fantasy class ships have open fantails where you can sit & watch the water. It's on the Lido deck with the casual dining room (on the Fantasy class anyway, not sure about Holiday class). The Spirit class have an open back on one deck, but it's much higher above the water & difficult to see the water--usually used for sunbathing during the day. The Destiny, Triumph, & Conquest classes are completely enclosed. The only real access to the water is with a balcony cabin. There is a bit on the side, but again difficult to pull up a chair & enjoy. (That's why they're building them that way--they can charge more for balconies!)
