luggage storage post cruise - Miami

We will be leaving the Majesty on a Friday in November and going to hotel Near the airport for a 3 day stay while attending NASCAR race. My question, since we will be off ship in early am and have the entire day to spend before needing to go to hotel... will the cruise line hold luggage til maybe 4pm before she sails back out? If so.. is my luggage safe or subject to rummaging?

 

We will not have a car and I don't know what we will do all day, maybe go to beach or airboat ride, but I hate to go all the way over near the airport and pay cab ride back to shore?

 

Any help is or suggestions for activity is appreciated. I thought I had read something about a car rental pretty cheap, maybe that would be a better idea for one day?

I have never heard of any luggage storage places at or near the pier. You would be smart to rent a car for the day which is large enough to hold your luggage and then tour where you want.
