southerngoose Posted September 28, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 28, 2007 This will be the first time that I can get on the ship early since I'll be driving to the port. Can someone tell me how I could be chosen as a spa demonstrator (ie the person laying on the table getting a massage or a seaweed treatment) during the open house on embarkation day? What time do they choose the folks? How long do you lay there saying "HI" and getting your picture taken while green with goop? Will the "free" treatment be worth it or should I just be a passenger and do something else for a few hours that day?
lanabanana Posted September 28, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 28, 2007 I look forward to reading the replys, as I have had the same question. It does seem like you would have to lay there for several hours, as the spa tour is generally from 1-4p or something like that.

Basically, she didn't do anything to "get chosen." We always go to the spa first thing to get the times we want. They asked her when we made our appointments if she would do it. She was there for the entire time of the open house so it was several. She seemed to enjoy it although she said the treatment she had done wasn't always confortable to lie in for a long time. Aquahound Posted September 28, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 28, 2007 The couple of times I've seen it, it was other crew members - like the singers and dancers - that were being demonstrated on.
Rare flannbarr Posted September 29, 2007 #5 Share Posted September 29, 2007 I was just chosen when I got on the ship. I had to lay there a seaweed wrap. It was actually kind of cool.
NoVa Mimi Posted September 29, 2007 #6 Share Posted September 29, 2007 In July, on FOS, I contacted the spa to be a volunteer for the demonstrations the following week (we were on a B2B). I was told that at this time they only use crew members for this now. This might not be the case on all ships, however.
