Seeking Recommendation for Private Tour in Messina, Sicily

Next June, we will be in Messina on Brilliance of the Seas. We are seeking recommendations for quality private tour operator and if there was anything very special places that you would recommend that we visit based on your experiences. Thanks for your help.

There really is no reason for a private tour in Messina. The main attraction is the hilltop resort town of Taormina..which is a good 45 min ride from town. Taormina is truly charming and you can get there by using the cruise lines' buses (with or without a tour). Taormina is only a few streets..and must be explored on foot (the buses all park outside of the gates) Its also possible to get to that area on the train (but you than need the cable car, bus or taxi up to the town). You can read-up on Taormina in any tour book that covers Sicily.

guidetodrive@virgilio.it---This group is the answer- they can arrange anything from a car to a mini bus- Last week we had 16 people on a mini bus for a seven hour tour for 40 euros each- It was great -the highlight was Mt.Etna and the Greek theatre in Taorimina -ask for Giacommo-one of the greatest tour guides ever.
