Honeymoon beach

Jackdiamond, the only ferry to Honeymoon Beach on Water Island leaves from Crown Bay MARINA (not the cruise ship dock), and cab fare from Havensight would probably be $5 pp each way.

The ferry fare is $9 RT. You can walk to Honeymoon Beach from the Water Island ferry dock.

It's a nice, quiet beach with food/bar service on weekends starting at around noon. The snorkeling there isn't the best, however. Several people have given their opinions - all favorable, but they left from Crown Bay. If you've been to other St Thomas beaches, and want to try a different one, this is a nice alternative if you'd like a quiet day at the beach.

Was there last Tuesday (June 28, 2011). All forces will try to discourage you from going because nobody will make much money off you; hawkers will try to pull you off the taxi to keep you from going. When you get dropped off at Crowne Point Marina, they even drop you just past it, making you think that you're nowhere but when you look to the Marina itself and walk over to it, where an open air bar and full service grocery store sit, and you see the ferry just in front, the reward for your perseverance becomes apparent. From this point on your day will be great.

Taxi - $5/pp/direction $10

Ferry - $5/pp/Round Trip 5

Total $15

Watching a pirate ship excursion come in at a price of $90/pp to arrive where you've been for the last hour for $15 - Priceless

Bring a cooler with the beverages of your choice and/or sandwinches from the grocery store deli, or buy a good hot lunch on the beach and drink from the bar, your choice. Even though they call it a 'lunch truck' its much, much more than that. It's home cooked real good food sold at a value price (good lunch for $10); I did not go to the bar.

On return, check the parking lot for a taxi. In our case, one was waiting. This is one place I will return but if you like crowds and 'laid back' is a dirty word to you, listen to the hawkers advise.

How cool to hear someone talking about Water Island and honeymoon beach.

I was married at the Sea Cliff beach resort on water island in 1988. In 1989 Hurricane Hugo did major damage to the hotel and nothing has been built to replace it. We're heading to St.Thomas next fall and would love to ferry over to visit .
