Ship Time vs Port Time

This may be a really stupid question, but is there any time difference between the ship and the ports? I was reading some other forums and they were talking about different times (however this was mostly in the Carribean) on the ship versus land.

Thanks!

The cruise lines we have been on the last few years (Princess and Celebrity) adjust ship time to agree with port time.

Even going as far as turning the clock back for one day and turning it ahead the next.
