Don't be so sure.

 

Usually ships dock but there is going to be construction going on to improve the facilites. During this time ships will have to tender.

It docked last week, and good thing too. There's a bar right at the pier owned by a real nice Dutch guy who got us good and liquored up for a nominal amount. Great time had by all. :D

That's probably one of them. I read BonaireTalk all the time since I'm a Bonaire junkie so I knew what was going on. I don't remember the specific threads I got the info from.

 

Even if you had to tender it would be a really short ride so it shouldn't cramp anyone's plans too terribly.

Usually they do, yes. This is only during the pier repairs. Although when I'm going to be there in February there will be one day when three ships are in port and one where there are two. Having been to Bonaire many times I can't for the life of me imagine that three ships can dock at once. The piers are just not made for cruise ships.

 

You can see the piers clearly in Google Earth, each with a shp at it. If a third ship was in port it would have to tender.

You must know that it's all about the money. Port Charges are probably lucrative to these islands.:rolleyes:
