Land in sight? and How to check prices? Please and Thanks

While sailing from Whittier to Glacier Bay, will land always be in sight? (how far off shore are we - will we see mountains thru this part?) We have an 8-night pre-cruise tour, which I assume would definitely not have any price reductions. But, maybe the cruise portion would/did have a price change. My balance is due next week, booked directly with Princess. Do I just ask, and will they tell me, if the cruise had any price changes?

No you won't have land in sight all the time- ships do sail some open ocean, but distant land is usually seen with the closest coming into ports, on your Skagway- Juneau sailing, and last sailing day back to Vancouver. I would NOW look at several sights for pricing and see for yourself what it is. You will have to ASK if there are any reductions but sometimes with cruisetours- there aren't any due to the combo booking even if the cruises are in discount now. So ask a lot of questions and see.
