Hey guys,

So we did good in the casino this last week on the Elation, cashed out about $967.00 when we left and started with $200.00. Well upon my return and washing our clothes...I found 2 $5 coins that must have been left in a pair of pants etc......so I thought what to do with them???? And decided that if anyone feels comfortable leaving their addresses on this forum, I would be happy to send them to the first person who replys.....I hope they start your luck in the casino as much as they did for us....so if anyone wants to leave their address I will send them to you today. GOOD LUCK in the casino for everyone.......

About 5 years ago, on a 10 day Princess cruise, I managed to make a profit of about $1000 playing blackjack. I made it to the Blackjack finals. I generally walk away ahead when I play in casinos.

On a cruise in May 2006 on Carnival Destiny, my luck was not good at all. Someone sitting at the table with me told me that Carnival removes all he queens from the 8 decks that they use at the tables. Of course, I didn't think to actually check for any queens while I was playing.

Any truth to this?

In Fun Ship 21, they do. At the standard blackjack tables, they do not remove Queens

I guess that I will look for the standard blackjack tables then when I am cruising in a few weeks.

Thanks.

The Funship 21 tables are properly marked so there should not be any problems telling them apart. The felts have like a teardrop for where the bet is placed.

Based on my experience playing BlackJack on Carnival, a teardrop where the bet is place sounds very logical. I must remember to heed this subliminal message......

Unfortunately, they use automatic shufflers now. It really seems to be an advantage for the house because the cards are continually put back into the machine, so any card can show up continually. We were playing at a table, and an ace had a small tear in it. We saw it come back up two more times in the next five hands. Even the dealer remarked about it and said the shuffle machines are definitely an advantage for the house.

Back to the OP - I always save a $2.50 chip for my next cruise. I just keep it in my wallet, then I play it when I go on a different chip. I like to see chips with different ships' names on them when I'm on a cruise.

Thanks Linda. DH loves bj and fun 21; he will not play with the auto shufflers.

What about poker? Is there a ring game or tournament available?

I wonder why the cruise ships have such bad rules. Most of the land based casinos are staying the same and occasionally offer really good games. and online poker is a hoot, IMHO.

cheers!
