Dakota Girl Posted June 5, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 5, 2004 This board is great and hopefully more knowledgable about my question than the HAL customer service agents who couldn't answer me the other night. (They had less information than I did!) I am sceduled for a cruisetour that includes the generic bus transfer from Seward to Anchorage. I was hoping to arrive in the city soon enough to spend time at the Alaska Native Heritage Center before it closes at 6 pm. My printed itinerary states that the transfers take about 3 hours and that "Departures begin at 12:15 pm." If this is the case, I will not be able to spend as much time as I would like at the ANHC. Is it possible to change my bus transfer to an earlier time? Who do I talk to about this? My other option is to upgrade to a transfer that must leave early in the morning. It includes an hour cruise to see Portage Glacier and stops at the ANHC. If anyone has experience with this option, how much time is allowed at the center? Can I still upgrade to this option? My cruise sails Friday, June 11. Thanks, Dakota Girl
Budget Queen Posted June 5, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 5, 2004 I would change your transfer and book the combo that takes you directly to the Native Heritage Museum, very worthwhile if of interest. Are you overnighting in Anchorage??? There are buses to the museum but it is a ways from downtown. Without a car, I would strongly consider the combo tour you mention with the transfer. On the bus get seats on the driver's side from Seward for full views of the Arm.
