SenatorsFan Posted October 7, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 7, 2007 Hi, This is my first post here, although this will be our second cruise. DH and I and our 2 boys, 15 and 10 are cruising on Valor Dec. 30. I've found lots of good info here already, but was just wondering specifically about a cruise that includes New Year's Eve. If anyone's been on one, can you please tell me what Carnival does. Is this likely to be a formal night? Any and all help happily received! Thanks! DqALEX Posted October 7, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 7, 2007 Hi and welcome to cruise critic. I was on the Legend last New Years and it wasn't a formal night. Some people really dress up in dark glasses and top hats. Carnival brings out the free champagne about 11:45PM. There is also a Live band and you can watch the ball drop from Time Square. I went to sleep around 2AM the next morning was a sea day the ship was very quiet. No problem getting a chair up by the pool. Im going for Christmas/ New Years this year again and the 2008/ 2009 New Years cruise on the Freedom. New Years is a fun time to cruise
