Just a little note. Prices can swing widely so dont wait on something if you see it at a price you are ok with. There were some nice pewter boxes in Ketchikan that I liked, but decided to hold off on since it was just the first port, and then saw them again for 2-3 times the price... luckilly we found some other nice priced boxes in Sitka at a store that was trying to decrease its inventory, and the person working the register did not have a firm grasp on what 40% off meant and ended up selling them to us for 40%...

Don't you just love it when the sales person doesn't understand how to deal with discounts? Sixty percent off - great deal!

We learned that many years ago when we started traveling, if we see something we like, buy it then - don't wait. May not even see the same thing in the next port.
