flagger Posted August 30, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 30, 2004 At least you should be able to wear them on cruises to Bermuda. Slap on those Bermuda shorts and knee-high socks and blue blazer and dash in on formal night on the ship. Let anyone cast their disparaging eye at you all they want, but since everyone throws about that tired cliche "when in rome", well when in Bermuda... If it was good enough for their Olympic team to walk in on opening night, surely it will be good for the restaurant aboard a ship. Wear your shorts with pride and still fall into the "requested" dress of the evening.

ElaineB2 Posted August 30, 2004 #5 Share Posted August 30, 2004 flagger - please check the weather in Alaska before you pack your shorts - oh, I forgot - When in Alaska, do as the Eskimos -- I mean check the weather before you pack your parka! Nancyquilts Posted August 31, 2004 #6 Share Posted August 31, 2004 If you have REAL Bermuda shorts, high socks and jacket, go for it! It'll sure beat some people who show up in regular shorts, sleeveless t-shirts and flip-flops at the show on formal night. (And it will probably look better than lots of us who think we are dressed "properly") Nancy

dkjretired Posted August 31, 2004 #8 Share Posted August 31, 2004 As someone who has actually been to Bermuda, it will not work. Saw people on my Bermuda cruises denied entry to Dining room on any night except first. Formal, informal, casual, etc. still against the rules. Saw people on my Bermuda cruises denied entry to Dining room on any night except first. Not my opinion just an observation. Formal, informal, casual, etc. still against the rules. No further discussion by me on this as I' really sick of these frivolous dressing threads. Don
