S.S.Oceanlover Posted October 9, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 9, 2007 We sail on Nov 3 and are considering trying this for a change of pace. Can anyone share info on type of selections offered and what the cost is. How was your experience? Cost is $50pp. Here is pretty much what's on the menu. It may have changed a little but not sure. Others will chime in if so. http://www.cruisingthecaribbeanprincess.com/ultimatews.html You need to call the Dine line on your stateroom phone as soon as possible once you board the ship or you might get shut out. Colo Cruiser Posted October 9, 2007 #3 Share Posted October 9, 2007 We have done this 3 times on 3 different ships. I think it is a must at least once. :)
MamaTene Posted October 9, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted October 9, 2007 Princess Personalizer site states "nominal fee" Personally I dont think $50 is nominal! Is it truly worth the bucks?
carmensmom Posted October 9, 2007 #5 Share Posted October 9, 2007 50pp is alittle high, cocktails included? Is that just 1 each?:p

Is it truly worth the bucks? $50 certainly isn't nominal in my mind, especially since you can just as easily order room service dinner for free and sit out there. Heck for $100, we'd just go up to Horizon Court, load up a tray and carry down ourselves. Did that for lunch many times.
bhopal21 Posted October 9, 2007 #7 Share Posted October 9, 2007 50pp is alittle high, cocktails included? Is that just 1 each?:p Yes, your favorite cocktail is included as well as a split of Moet Chandon Champagne, a beautiful flower arrangement, and a complimentary 8x10 photo. Not a bad deal in my book as we have done this twice on The Golden. Mike:)
swiss Posted October 9, 2007 #8 Share Posted October 9, 2007 On a past princess cruise we went down and looked at the dinner menu, then ordered it from room service and ate out on our balcony. We really enjoyed having a nice meal out on the balcony and being by ourselves.
ccrain Posted October 9, 2007 #9 Share Posted October 9, 2007 The Ultimate Balcony Dinner was well worth the $100 per couple for our anniversary dinner - The lobster and steak were cooked precisely to order, the service was excellent, the flowers, drinks and photos were all very good, but you just could not beat the view over the end of the ship with very little wind, a large balcony and a romantically setting sun. (If you add up the cost of the meal in the Desert Rose ($30), the photo ($20), the flowers ($20), the champagne ($20) and the drinks ($12) all included in the $100 price, having your own personal waiter and asst waiter on your own balcony is a bargain. LuvTheGoodLife Posted October 9, 2007 #10 Share Posted October 9, 2007 To the poster who said they would just order from diningroom menu through room service and skip the $100 charge associated with Ultimate Balcony Dinner - I do not believe that Princess allows ordering off the diningroom menus for room service any longer. The items available through room service are from a separate, quite limited menu. Your success with trying this may vary but that is our experience over the past several Princess cruises. mikjr Posted October 10, 2007 #12 Share Posted October 10, 2007 Cost is $50pp. Is there a 15% tip added... or is the $100 considered the service charge for the waiter? Those or you that have enjoyed the UBD... do you normally tip also??
