Courtyard FLL and sightseeing in Miami

Hello,

We are planning to stay at the Courtyard FLL for our Western Carribean cruise in November. Anybody has stayed in Courtyard FLL before? I know that it's very close to the airport and the port, but would appreciate any other feedback regarding the hotel (eg. if the room is nice, any restaurant/businesses in the area, etc.).

We'll also be renting a car and plan to do some sightseeing of Miami (have always been interested in Miami). I understand that it's about 20 mi away. We'll only be there in the afternoon the day before our cruise and morning/afternoon before we check in to the cruise. Any suggestions of must-see places in Miami during this short period? Any recommendations of good restaurants for dinner/breakfast/lunch?

Thanks so much!!

You could always drive to Vizcaya and then out on Key Biscayne and Bill Baggs State Park before you board the ship. Both outstanding Miami attractions and close to each other.
