firsttimercruzer Posted December 25, 2007 #51 Share Posted December 25, 2007 We went there earlier this month as part of the Reef, Rum and Rays trip that Nativeways does( ALso a plug for them as this was the highlight of our cruise) I Love Rum Point...the beach is pristine, the water aqua and warm and the beach beautiful....they had to take me back to the boat kicking and screaming...there are great little signs, parrots that are loose, great food and drink, ect... You have to go...if we ever end up going back we would definitely rent a car and go there again for the day!!! Heather

drew sailbum Posted December 27, 2007 #53 Share Posted December 27, 2007 Though Rum Point experienced some changes in the corporate management structure, it seems that personell moved from company-to-company. Same people preparing the same food. It seems that not much has changed.

Raydar Posted January 19, 2008 #55 Share Posted January 19, 2008 Rum Point is awesome. We spent the day there last month (12/30/07). We also found a Beautiful beach called Star Fish Beach. It was one of our best "finds" during our week on the island!! Star Fish Beach is officially called "Ivory Kai Point". There is no sign that says Starfish Beach. Just before Rum Point you hang a left and follow signs to Kaibo Yacht Club. (There will be a fork in the road just before the yacht club. Keep following the sign to the yacht club - you will take the right fork.) Go past the yacht club to the end of the road. You will be driving down a very quiet road. Ivory Kai Point is on your left I believe. There is a portico (archway) that you drive through. The words "Ivory Kai Point" are on the portico on the right side but it is almost hidden by overgrowth. Drive through the portico and you will find yourself in a dead end circle/cul-de-sac. Park the car half way around the "circle" on the sand/dirt. The beach is directly in front. It is BEAUTIFUL! If you don't see any starfish, just walk out a bit and look around. The starfish will be at the bottom, just pick them up and bring them to the surface. They don't bite, LOL. Just be careful handling them and don't take them out of the water for more than a couple of seconds. We found at least 10. We also saw a small stingray. There was only one other family there. We relaxed on our private beach, then went to Rum Point for drinks in a hammock. We snorkeled here and just relaxed.
