Thanks so much for the replies. Two of our group are deathly afraid of heights, I'm not. Their concern is the walkway that goes around the windows of the dining room. We enjoy walking everday on that deck on most ships we have been on.

At sea I don't have a problem with that small walkway - except I move a whole lot faster when I'm on it.:p When we're docked at a pier it is an issue for me and I try to avoid it.

That walkway is actually very cool. I spent several hours just meandering around that deck watching the waves go by. That was also my first time at sea so I finally understood why my grandfather looked forward to his Merchant Marine tours so much.

The Solarium is indeed open-air. (I liked the retractable-roof version on Enchantment better.)

 

The outside walking deck is on Deck 4, and circles the back of the ship, but when it gets back to the front of the ship you have to go up one flight of stairs to the level of Deck 5 in order to walk up front to the helipad. It was open about half the time due to wind and weather.

 

There's a tiny video-projection movie theater on Deck 2... good place to catch a flick on sea day.

 

The Seattle's Best next to the Ben & Jerry's... you only have to pay for the specialty drinks (e.g. espresso). If you just want regular coffee, it's free from the large dispenser in the seating area. You can also grab pizza (which is typically bad, LOL) and desserty snacks. Since it's situated near the front of the Promenade, it came in handy for us as we had a front end balcony. (The Windjammer is at the rear of the ship so--without that little coffee/snack area--I would've had to walk all the way to the other end of the ship every time I wanted a cup of coffee or a piece of pastry).

 

The Casino has some penny machines sprinked around in it: near the bar is a Hoot Loot, Cleopatra, Shrimp Mania, and one more, and then near the back exit are some other penny machines that weren't as good (Felix the Cat, something Luau). They also have some multi-denominational machines which can be selected to go as low as 2 cents. (Oh, yeah, and they have those quarter-pushing machines where you drop a quarter in and try to get it to push a whole stack off the edge, and they put big bills in there. Hot tip: make sure to visit it on a day the boat's rocking, LOL! Every time I walked by, quarters were falling out.)

 

There is an omelette station in the back section of the Windjammer. There was no line the first morning; then everyone found it, and it had a line the rest of the time, LOL. The soft-serve machine in the buffet only had strawberry, I think, but there was another soft-serve machine outside the buffet on the way to the pool which served vanilla and chocolate.

 

As was the case on our cruises on Enchantment and Island Princess, the Internet is 50 cents a minute, painfully slow, and pretty much unusable. Just trying to log onto AOL to check my e-mail would take 4 minutes. The Internet computers are in the library (which had a decent selection of books).

 

The men's bathroom outside the Windjammer has a waterfall urinal in it. :D We were one of the first people on board, so my wife went in to look at it, LOL.

 

Our bathroom shower had a stall door on it. I don't know if every room has it or not. It's a lot better than the shower curtains that stick to your (_)_) every time you move.

 

The upper levels of Voyager have pool chairs shoved into just about every nook and cranny, LOL. Near the funnel, around the edges, everywhere. If you're not big on the pool itself, and just want a place to sit and read, you can find one.

I am thrilled to hear about the omelette station (worth the wait in line IMHO) and the penny slots. Even though the casino is not usually my thing, I think the penny slots are a blast! You can play a long time and only lose a little.

Yes, I am looking forward to the Voyager sailing from Texas as well. Just did my first Voyager class cruise last week on the Adventure. The Voyager certainly will be different from what we are used to on the Rhapsody out of Texas. Some good, some not so good. The RH did spoil us.

Question, doesnt Voyager also have "cyber cabin" and WiFi like the other Voyager class ships? Did you notice people sitting around in hot spots w/ their laptops? I still wonder which is better- the WiFi or Cyber Cabin? We used cyber cabin on Explorer this past July..

She's alternating two different western Caribbean itineraries. One is going to Progreso, Cozumel, and Roatan (was also supposed to go to Costa Maya but thanks to Dean...). The other is going to Montego Bay, Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel.

Yes, Voyager has both Cyber cabin and Wi-Fi. I used the Wi-Fi and like everyone said Its not really Fast. But it worked if you just Downloaded Your mail and disconeccted. Then Wrote your Mail and reconnect To send.

Unless you are lucky like i was you must use one of the hotspots. However we were in 9370( Balcony) and were able to connect in the Room.

Yes, there is a per minute charge. It starts at .50 per minute, however you can buy pkgs that lower it to about .37 cts for Approx 150 minutes($50).

It was slow compared to my DSL, but i was in Constant Contact with the family and was able to send pictures home to the kids. I also checked my posts In one of the photographic forums I frequent.
