Ruth,

Yes it will depending on where you are headed. We just came off the Dream on a Med cruise and we exchganged US dollars for EURO's but you'll take about a 7% exchange hit.

What about the ATM's... what do they take out?

Hi Ruth,

I suggest you call your local bank and ask them if they are affiliated with any banks in Europe and you can also find out what the fees are for foreign withdrawals. I realize you won't want to spend your time in port looking for a certain bank's ATM, but if you happen to see two ATMs, which is pretty common and one is affiliated with your bank it could save you some money. For example my bank in the USA is BofA and I know in Europe they are affiliated with BNP Paribas so when I use a BNP Paribas ATM I don't have to pay BofA's $5 "international ATM fee"

If this helps you, we travel to other countries in Europe about once every other month and I don't have much problem finding ATMs, but I am planning to bring enough Euros with me this time so that I don't have to waste my port time looking for an ATM.

(I'll also be bringing a few dollars for the casino)

Hope this helps. See you in 10 days!!!

Tracy
