bthotugigem05 Posted October 11, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 11, 2007 May be a dumb question, but everything I've read says there are lots of things in the Casino, but nothing mentions craps. Are there craps tables in the casino?

Uncle Fester Posted October 11, 2007 #5 Share Posted October 11, 2007 Be prepared for a couple of things with the craps game. First, they only give you doulbe odds pass line and come bets. Second, while the dealers are much friendlier than what you'll usually find in Nevada, their skill level isn't as high. I recall them making two distinct mistakes, both in my favor. Just keep an eye on your payouts, and you'll be fine.
kylescoolmom Posted October 11, 2007 #6 Share Posted October 11, 2007 Loved it loved it loved it. One of the best nights on my cruise was playing craps. Yes the table can start off slow but once you are on a roll (ha ha ) you will see the table can fill up quickly. Try it. Most exciting game in the casino. Good Luck
*Mach* Posted October 11, 2007 #7 Share Posted October 11, 2007 I always got to the casino fairly late in the evening and upon my arrival the craps table was ROCKIN'!! I couldn't get near the thing! Moral of this story... if you want to play craps, go early!
GayleR Posted October 11, 2007 #8 Share Posted October 11, 2007 They have one table. It was never full and dealers were great. I don't know what ship you were on but both times on the Conquest the craps table was full! It's a lot of fun! I love to play craps!
FFKampy Posted October 11, 2007 #9 Share Posted October 11, 2007 I can only speak for myself, but I ALWAYS have better luck when the ship is going North. I have tested this theory twice, and both times, I did poorly going south(ish) and much better going back north. * results will vary!:D

dalsti Posted October 11, 2007 #11 Share Posted October 11, 2007 We were on the Liberty last month. We would play before our 8pm dinner seating, (maybe 1-2 people playing) and then again after dinner between 10pm-1am. One night it was packed, but ususally about 10 people on the table. I agree with the poster that said the dealers make mistakes. I witnessed a bunch, but they were ususally caught by the stick person. Still had a blast. Won big the first night, Won a little the next, then broke even the next 2, and then gave it ALL back.
doublebzz Posted October 11, 2007 #12 Share Posted October 11, 2007 There is generally a correlation between the length of the cruise and the number of crap shooters. The crap table is normally very busy on 3/4 night cruises and the first few nights of the 7 day cruises. On the 14 day Transatlantic, many of the players tap out by week's end and the table is converted to a coffin for any passengers that might have expired on the transit. big_duck Posted October 11, 2007 #13 Share Posted October 11, 2007 It hasn't been asked yet but $5 minimum. As stated earlier, max double odds on pass and come bets. No hop bets either. Plus the dealers have a bad habit of not calling "no roll" when the dice don't hit the bumper ... usually on an ill timed 7. I usually like to go later in the evening when the too drunk college boys who have no clue what they are doing have passed out. ;)
doublebzz Posted October 11, 2007 #14 Share Posted October 11, 2007 Big Duck Do you recall what the "vig" is on Carnival for charging chips to your sign and sail card? Some lines charge nothing and others as high as 3%.

Also, obviously you can bet any combination on any number.

Big Duck I wish you were going with me 12/8/07. here's the thing. I went to the casino in Tunica last night. I had $15.00 big spender. that was loose I had more. AnywayI stood next to a guy and watched and he was telling me how to play by treading softly. ..so I put $5.00 on the I think pass line know where it is don't know what it is called. Then after the point (?) He had me put money behind it... But sometime I put $5.00 and other times I put $6.00 behind it... How do you know weather it is 5 or 6 I forgot. Oh by the way I won $175.00 on my $15.00. So what's the scoop. A couple of times I would put on the 6 or 8 too which ever number was hitting. Can i get a book somewhere///....do the cruise ships give lessons in the mornings? Oh I put a 50 cent bet on the nicle slots and won $260.00. Best thing was free drinks while playing I know they don't do that on the ships. I guess the guy like me cause I got 2 free dinners and 4 free breakfast. It was cousins night all girls had a blast hope it's fun on the ship Anyway thanks for what ever help you can give me if you get back to reading this. Lynda M.
