POA at Kahului, Maui

So do we actually dock at Kahului, Maui? I've seen the Kahului Beach recommended here and I never could find anything about it in any tour book, then I saw on Robert's Tour site that this is actually where we dock; so is that true? Is the South Maui Beach Transfer trip actually to a beach right near the pier? I've also seen comments poste don this board, I believe saying we can get a shuttle from the pier for $5 pp each way, so is that the recommendation?

Rent a car. Cheaper, faster and you can do anything. The ship does dock at the port. Car rental shuttles are there for you to take you to the airport. Car rentals are about $50. With that you can drive to the Iao Needle (about 15-20mins from the port), Makena/Big Beach (about 45mins) or the start of the Road to Hana. Lots to do with a rental.
