Scuba Lessons

Please keep in mind that the scuba course is not a two hour thing. Even if you do the book work in advance (and there is lots of it) you must still pass the written tests, profiency tests, pool dives, and open water dives while on your cruise. This can be very time consuming.

I would recommend that you get certified locally and use your cruise time to practice and enjoy your new sport by doing some diving. You'll get to enjoy the underwater world rather than spending time removing and replacing your mask, BCD, weight belt, etc. underwater, rather than enjoying your new environment.

The last I checked, onboard dive classes were comparable in cost to what I paid locally.

We considered doing the course on the ship last year, but after considering the time involved, we did a discovery Scuba dive instead. Am now in the process of doing the certification locally so that we will be certified for our cruise next spring.
