brunolvr Posted June 7, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 7, 2004 Has anyone walked from the dock where the cruise ships are to Creek Street? Is it a hard walk? Also, we'd like to walk to the Deer Mountain Hatchery & Eagle Preserve and the Totem Heritage Center. How long or difficult of a walk is it? Is it worth the walk? Thanks! tadjr Posted June 7, 2004 #3 Share Posted June 7, 2004 The walk to Creek St is flat and easy. 10 mins at a leisurely pace. From the bottom of Creek St you can take the funicular up to the lodge at the top of the hill overlooking Ketchikan and then its a walk to the hatchery. We took the tram up, $2.00, but didnt walk the rest of the way to the hatchery so cant comment on the easiness or time involved.
Budget Queen Posted June 7, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 7, 2004 Dock to Creek St. only a couple blocks all level as mentioned. If going to the hatchery- facing Creek St. go left, you will follow Park around the bend, following the Creek- slight up hill, the Hatchery and Totem Heritage Museum on the right. Easy without mobility limitations. Pick up a walking tour map at the dock visior center, clear directions to the Hatchery.
