Questions - about the NCL sticky

"What you need to know about cruising NCL" on the the NCL board

obviously, things that aren't about our particular ships ( the Pride 0f...) won't be the same ( casino, etc.), but there are some other points that people made that I wonder if apply to our ships.

Do people still recommend the 'egg crate topper' as the mattress is too hard? Do the 'fish on the carpet swim forward' on these ships too? door the same color on the port side and the same color on the starboard side

that the deck map on the ship isn't very good?

that sort of thing if someone could go over to that board that has been on the Hawaii ships, and bring over some of the pertinent hints, it would be great!

The beds were hard, but I like firm mattresses. I do know of some people who asked for egg crates to put on them. Ask for them early since I heard they were running out.

Didn't notice if doors on port/starboard side were different. We did notice that when we changed rooms from deck 9 to deck 4 that our door colors were different. Both these room were on port side.

If you want one of the mattress toppers, you definitely need to ask early. I loved our bed (not too hard and definitely not too soft like the one at the Waikiki Marriott). However, another person in our group wanted a mattress topper and asked after the muster drill the first day and was told they were out. She asked again later that night and was told again that they were out. I think on Wednesday someone had given one up and the room steward brought it to her to use. Like the other posters, I did not notice the doors being different colors. I also have to say the maps seemed fine and did not confuse anyone in our group (which included kids and several 70+).
