gigman Posted October 15, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 15, 2007 Does anyone know what the going rate $$ is for a driver with guide for a tour of the city. We understand they are available at the dock when we arrive. Thanks....
cruiseryyc Posted October 15, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 15, 2007 I would be very hesitant to take a non-ship sponsored tour in this port, not the safest place in the world to be on your own.
dls1277 Posted October 15, 2007 #3 Share Posted October 15, 2007 Check on the Ports of Call board. I think I saw something like $170 or so. This is what we plan to do with 4 people. Much cheaper than the ship and you can pick what you want to see yourself. Personally I do not have any safety concerns with this port.

A Sixth? Posted October 15, 2007 #5 Share Posted October 15, 2007 We hired a car and driver when we were there in 2003 for $ 80.00 for about four hours. That was for 4 adults and a four year old kid. Did the fort, market, water front, monastery.... Had a great time, felt perfectly safe, so much that we had a few beers at a local street cafe. Oh ya, our driver was actually a lawyer, but made better money he said driving tourist around than being an "honest" lawyer .
