jmaze Posted October 15, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 15, 2007 Does Carnival have them? Do we buy them from the purser once we get on this ship or can we order them in advance? I heard the line at the pursers desk could be brutal. Also, does it save you any money to buy drink tickets, or is it just a good way to keep track of what you spend on alcohol? :D
maxamuus Posted October 15, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 15, 2007 http://www.carnival.com/BonVoyage/AddToCart.aspx?pid=BAR Basically a nice way to budget your drinks. I plan on pre-buying a bunch before our spring cruise. I dont gamble per say and doubt I would use the spa. By having the coupons shouldnt have any BIG suprises at check-out. jmaze Posted October 16, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted October 16, 2007 thanks Maxamuus, But don't drinks cost different amounts, (beer vs daquiri)? I know this sounds dumb, but this is my first cruise and I'd like to enjoy it to the max.:D
Seabee Posted October 16, 2007 #4 Share Posted October 16, 2007 Looks like thopse are "bar credits". So if each of the 4 "credit"coupons are worth $5 and you buy an Umbrella drink whihc cost $7, I think you will get billed for the $2 difference. cruisinbuddy Posted October 16, 2007 #5 Share Posted October 16, 2007 You do save a few cents and sometimes the waiter will take the ticket for a pricier drink. When I book my next CCL cruise in '09, I plan on buying lots of them. After my last CCL cruise I figured out that you can use 4 tickets(1 sheet) to buy a bucket of beer (4) and you'll save @ $0.65. Now that doesn't seem like much to you, but you don't know me.:D

The way I figure it is that if I can save some $$ here and there, the more I'll have to spend overall. Do you know how I go about purchasing them? I heard the pursers desk was a long wait for anything. Maybe I heard wrong. Can I buy them in advance like soda tickets? Thanks a lot
Fireman_taz Posted October 17, 2007 #7 Share Posted October 17, 2007 Maxamuus provided a link in the first reply. You can purchase them ahead of time and they will be waiting for you upon arrival.

samdog Posted October 22, 2007 #9 Share Posted October 22, 2007 My husband surprised me with drink tickets on our last cruise. While they are good for the actual amount they were purchased for, you still save because when you use a drink ticket the 15% gratuity is included.
