Shore Excursions

Just be careful to get a good waterproof bag if you go that route. I bought one from the CAA - first one I took home I tested, and it leaked. So I exchanged. I should have realized it was a crappy brand, in spite of the ridiculous price tag.

We took our passports with us (as we're not American citizens, we figured we may have had some trouble on shore) in Mexico, and after spending an hour in an underground river, came out with soggy passports - we never needed them in Mexico after all, but had quite a hard time from the agents arriving back in Canada with these battered looking passports! haha.

That said, for any Canadians out there, do you think it's necessary to take passports ashore? I see that in St. Thomas you go through US customs, so that will be necessary, but hopefully not anywhere else...
