SunshneNC Posted October 17, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 17, 2007 Just kinda curious about going on Shore Excursions such as snorkeling. Where do you store your money, id's, and SS cards while you are on the excursions? Has anyone ever had their belongings stolen while on an excursion? big_duck Posted October 17, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 17, 2007 In my bag, on the boat. It isn't going anywhere.
Bunkie103 Posted October 17, 2007 #3 Share Posted October 17, 2007 We use one of those waterproof containers that hang around your neck. We only take sail&sign cards, ID and a little money and it all fits.
Megnolia Posted October 17, 2007 #4 Share Posted October 17, 2007 Just be careful to get a good waterproof bag if you go that route. I bought one from the CAA - first one I took home I tested, and it leaked. So I exchanged. I should have realized it was a crappy brand, in spite of the ridiculous price tag. We took our passports with us (as we're not American citizens, we figured we may have had some trouble on shore) in Mexico, and after spending an hour in an underground river, came out with soggy passports - we never needed them in Mexico after all, but had quite a hard time from the agents arriving back in Canada with these battered looking passports! haha. That said, for any Canadians out there, do you think it's necessary to take passports ashore? I see that in St. Thomas you go through US customs, so that will be necessary, but hopefully not anywhere else...
