You've made a great selection with Alaska highlights of Denali Park and Kenai fjords, and enough time to enjoy them. :)

Just to point out to those who say BQ and others only suggest independent tours - note that BQ has given her blessing to a cruisetour :)

has anyone done the #18 cruise tour to alaska with HAL?

We are doing cruise tour #17 August 10, 2008.

Reading all the posts on Alaska and Volendam - hope to get some good research done so I can decide on private or small group tours in Ketchikan, Skagway and Juneau.

We did a 5-day CT with Celeb last year. All the lines travel the same routes. Best general advice from me is to give alot of weight to CTs that max use of train for movement vs. busses. CT Trains are MUCH more comfortable, 1st-class airline-like seats, space, toilets, BAR service;) , dining car:D , viewing windows. Do busses and your on-road stops get to line up at porta-potties. Also allocate more Denali time and less Fairbanks.

Good Luck.
