Just to add my two cents here. After ruining my Anan Creek Bear pictures on our July trip to Alaska, I knew my time for a digital had arrived, and I got the Canon Powershot SD1000 for $249 at Best Buy, so the price you are quoting is really good. I absolutely think it is one terrific camera. I have already taken the best shots around East Texas of all types of wildlife, great photos of the grandkids, wonderful foliage shots, and nature in general. My favorites are the close ups using the "digital macro" on it. I have taken spectacular spiders, lizards, snakes, bees, bugs, etc. that are so detailed. So from a digital novice, this is one incredible little camera. gg

I bought my powershot SD750 not long ago for $350. It is a very handy camera with a lot of features I still don't know how to use yet. But the price seems to be very good.
