Ocean Players Club - Perks?

It appears that the perks offered by the OPC vary depending on which ship you are on. Last year and this year I filled out the online form for "cruising again" and got emails indicating that we were on their guest list. I did not receive any strawberries, photo gift certificates or other perks either time. I guess we didn't lose enough in the casino!

More experienced people may know the answer to this question, but I think your gifts depend on the time and money spent in the casino. I also think it is the Casino Host who looks after the OPC members, not the Manager.

A list of Casino Hosts - They change all the time as they finish their contracts and go on holiday or move to other ships.

I think it is a good idea for anyone who enjoys playing in the casino to find the Casino Host and introduce themselves. You never know what little goodies might come your way.

Does anyone find the Host or know the names of any of the casino hosts?

Thanks:)

After your first cruise as a member of the OPC your perks are a direct result of your level of play. If you play slots always have your card in the machine to be rated. If you are a table games player like myself you need to play at a level of at least $25 per hand or roll of the dice to be rated. If your play is high enough the casino host will come and find you. Free drinks, goodies delivered to your cabin or wine at dinner are all based on your level of play in the casino. Free chips or cash waiting for you at the cage is based on your last cruise performance.

Good luck.

I did fill out the Sailing Again form - again - as I had not received a response after about 3 weeks. This time, I received a reply with 45 minutes!

Of course, all it said was "We're glad to hear your (sic) sailing again! We have placed you on our OPC guest list for your upcoming sailing. Hope you have a great cruise, and the best of luck while spending time in the Casino!"

I guess I didn't spend quite enough time last time! ;)

Or maybe they're just mad that I actually came out ahead. Good thing I won my money on the last night. Otherwise, they probably would've gotten it all back.

If I get strawberries and/or photo coupon, that will be nice. If not, I'll still play the slots as much as my daily gambling budget allows!

I signed up about three weeks ago and never received a reply. This will be our 5th cruise on CCL, but we always played with cash on our cruises! So, I guess I am not in their system. Can someone explain what card I use to play with, my s and s? Where do I put it in the machine or table and how do I deep track of what I spend? Am I now a member of OPC? HELP!

OK I followed this threads instructions and entered the information needed for Cruising Again....It only required the sailing reservation, date of sailing, cabin #, and a few other things, name, DOB, EM address.

I got the email back this morning that stated they were adding me to the OPC guest list. Also, an added twist, we'll see what happens, but my birthday happens to be during the cruise.

We'll see what happens, I am a slot junkie, if I'm going to donate all week, I'd like a few nice things for my efforts ; )

And I also added my husband today as well, have to see how quick that email comes back.

There's a slot on the machine where you put your S & S card while you're playing. Have one of the cashier's punch a hole in your card and they'll put it on a stretchy type cord for you (it will keep you from walking away from the machine with your card still in the machine). Ask one of the assistants to help you set up a pin number if you want and then you can upload any money left on your machine to the card. When you go to the next machine you can just have the money on your card put on the new machine. It saves walking around with 10 pounds of quarters!

I've been told that unless you play at least $25 a hand for a couple hours at the tables, it doesn't count....

I never knew this! And you know, I had to make a point to go to the cabin and get cash. Got an email today from OPC saying that I need to join onboard. So, no perks for me.

Last night I signed up for the cruising again link for my b2b cruises in dec. and this morning I got 2 emails (1 for each cruise) stating that they will put me on the guest list. When it gets closer to sailing is there a way to contact them to remind them of my cruise and that I'm on a b2b? Just thinking I might get something extra since being on a b2b and being onboard for so long.

You can use your Sign & Sail card to play the slots, there is a spot to put it in the machine, you'll see it. It keeps track of your points. 1000 points will give you $10 back....but 1000 points is a LOT of play time. The OPC card is for table play. Here's what the back of my OPC card says:

This card is the property of Carnival Corporation Casino Division. Your use of this card indicates your acceptance of all terms and conditions of the Ocean Players Club. This card is non-transferable and subject to cancellation at any time. Card holder must be at least 18 years of age (Gaming age requirements may vary). Card may be used for manual rating at tables (proper identification may be required). Please present card to tables games personnel whenever playing.

alot of people joining, had anyone got the freebies? strawberries, photo credit, free drink???

thanks

michele

I could be wrong but....I believe you have to have signed up for the OPC on a past cruise or used your S & S card in the slot machines to build up at last 1000 points on your card to start getting the "gifts" from the OPC. I'm pretty sure they don't give the little goodies unless you've already played in the ships' casino....

Yep, popsec, you are wrong. At least that was my experience. I did receive the perks. :) I signed up for the OPC a few months before before my recent Spirit cruise. I received a dozen chocolate covered strawberries in my cabin on embarkation day. On the first or second night at dinner, a rep came over and presented me with a coupon for $15.00 for a photo. It was nice. :)

I sent out the "cruising again" email last Saturday ~ 1 week before my Valor cruise. Received an email 4 days later ~ Wednesday ~ saying I am added to their list.

I have cruised twice before, but have never actually signed up for the OPC. I have used my S&S in the slot machines though, but doubt very much if I have gotten to 1000 points.

It will be interesting to find out whether there will be strawberries waiting for me in my cabin ~ I'm not expecting it, but if they are there it will be a nice surprise! I'll let you know when I get back. :)

I just didn't want all those who have never signed up for OPC but emailed them before a cruise to get all excited about gifts in the cabin when it seems as though they usually don't do anything for you until after the first cruise. There are exceptions but it's usually that way....

  • 2 weeks later...

Okay, I have a question...

I recieved my official email welcoming me a while back. However after we made our final payment, Carnival switched cabins on us (I am not complaining...I like our new cabin much better:D ).

I am not sure what I should do (or if I should do anything). Are there going to be strawberries waiting for the people who get our old cabin  or will they automatically know that our room changed? Should I just sign up again with my new cabin number? Any suggestions?
