macusa19 Posted September 1, 2004 #1 Share Posted September 1, 2004 1. I have read several threads re: topless sunbathing decks. Does this exist on the Elation? 2. I have also read about "secret doors"...what about the Elation? 3. Embarkation attire...What would you recommend? Are jeans acceptable, since we will be dining that night and may not receive our luggage before then? We will be departing from Galveston, and December can get a little chilly in Houston. How quick (or how far out to sea) will the temperature change into "Caribbean Weather"? 4. What about the pillows and blankets? Are they comfortable, or of a "nowhere motel" quality? Also, what about the beds, hard/soft? 5. Are the bathrooms equipped with an actual tub, or a stand-up shower? 6. Does anyone know the brand of shampoo/conditioner the ship provides? Any answers/advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
SevenVII Posted September 1, 2004 #2 Share Posted September 1, 2004 1) yes 2) Dont think so 3) Depends if you want to be wearing jeans in the dining room, chances are you might not have your dress wear for that evening. 4) dont know 5) which type of cabin did you book? 6) No
macusa19 Posted September 1, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted September 1, 2004 I booked a gaurantee inside cabin (4A) I believe. This is my first cruise so I'll start with an inside cabin to try it out. Does this have a tub or a shower?
travel girl23 Posted September 1, 2004 #4 Share Posted September 1, 2004 It has a shower. I usually wear slacks and t-shirt to board in since I may have to go to dinner that way. I understand there is no dress code in the dining room on the first and last nights for the very reason that suitcases may not be available. Some people bring a change of clothes in their carry on. I don't remember what the brand of shampoo is. There is a little basket with lots of little goodies such as shampoo, conditioner, razor blades, perfume spray (works great as a room spray), etc.
DreadPirateRobert Posted September 1, 2004 #5 Share Posted September 1, 2004 My inside cabin had a shower. I wouldn't wear jeans. Shampoo and conditioner are reputable name brands, bring your own if you really care. I don't try to predict the weather, but usually by morning it is nice. Beds were firm, pillows leave a lot to be desired. Bring your own. Secret doors?
