Service Animals

Hello all,

Just thought I would share this with you. I read in the new Odyssey brochure that they will accept service animals upon notification. Isn't this amazing? I wonder where they will be able to walk the dogs. Since most service dogs are for either the blind or deaf and I know of at least 2 people that have never cruised because they weren't allowed to bring their dogs, I wonder how this will play out. I would assume that there is a limit on how many animals are allowed at one time. And doesn't this open Pandoras Box as to what exactly the "service" the animal is performing. Couldn't I say that as a registered depressed person I need my Doberman with me?

What are your thoughts.

Howard

Actually Cunard's kennel service is different. Those dogs must remain in the kennel the entire cruise.

Service animals are generally trained to go in a specific spot. And a "service" animal is a sight or sound assisting animal; not one's "comforting" pet tarantula.
