howndder Posted October 18, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 18, 2007 Hello all, Just thought I would share this with you. I read in the new Odyssey brochure that they will accept service animals upon notification. Isn't this amazing? I wonder where they will be able to walk the dogs. Since most service dogs are for either the blind or deaf and I know of at least 2 people that have never cruised because they weren't allowed to bring their dogs, I wonder how this will play out. I would assume that there is a limit on how many animals are allowed at one time. And doesn't this open Pandoras Box as to what exactly the "service" the animal is performing. Couldn't I say that as a registered depressed person I need my Doberman with me? What are your thoughts. Howard
CruisinMatt Posted October 18, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 18, 2007 Cunard' QM 2 has a "kennel service" and not just for service animals.
Iamboatman Posted October 18, 2007 #3 Share Posted October 18, 2007 Actually Cunard's kennel service is different. Those dogs must remain in the kennel the entire cruise. Service animals are generally trained to go in a specific spot. And a "service" animal is a sight or sound assisting animal; not one's "comforting" pet tarantula.
