Which ship, which itinerary - need your help

Recommended Posts

I am thinking of booking an Hawaii cruise for 2008 and just received NCL brochure, but confused by the different itineraries (they look pretty much the same). What recommendations do you have for what ship, itinerary to pick. I am game for 7, 10 or 11 day cruise, but want one that gives the most (to see and do while there). Who knows if I will ever get to go back. I would appreciate hearing your input, or if you see another cruiseline with more to offer, not particular on lines.

I can only tell u about NCL from my experience there may be others who disagree!

I chose NCL Pride of Hawaii because its the newest ship to Hawaii (2006) they will also will be taking it off Hawaii and put it in Europe at the end of season so I wanted to get on the most current ship for this trip. POH is a 7 day itinery.

The main reason i chose NCL is because all their Hawaii ships r registered to the USA. This was done to enable them to go from island to island without all the customs BS. And therefore yr getting a bigger bang for yr buck and seeing more island's rather than spending days at sea leaving from Vancouver. The disadvantages for some ppl is the fact that there is no duty free on ship and no casino.

There has also been a lot of negative feedback from ppl that the service and food is not up to what ppl usually experience with NCL.

If u go with an open mind as I'am in Jan I'm sure everything will be fine.

Also Pride of Aloha gets more negative talk than all their others ships and it's the oldest of their Hawaii fleet but i believe has a 10 or 11 day itinery.

Hawaii will be my 5th cruise with NCL and i just got back from Alaska cruise in Sept.

One last note! I try to do back to back cruises because our flights out of canada r so expensive. So for Hawaii we are doing Jan 21 to Feb 4th and manged to be able to stay in the same suite for the 2 weeks.

Im telling u this because u mentioned 7/10/11 itinery.

I hope u find this info helpful.
