Tampa Hotel Recommendation?

I'm looking for a relatively inexpensive (<$150 USD) hotel to stay in in Tampa prior to our cruise.

We are 4 girls, and are concerned about safety, as well as shuttles to/from airport/port.

Also, we'd also like to be able to go out for dinner somewhere closeby...

Any recommendations??

There's a whole thread right now about Tampa hotels in the Gulf Coast Departures thread. I know the HoJos in Downtown is fairly cheap, you may want to check that hotel out.

We stayed at Courtyard by Marriott in the downtown area last Nov. Had to take a cab from the airport to the hotel....hotel does have a shuttle. It will carry you in a 2 mile radious(resturants, cruise port). We felt very safe, nice hotel and the staff was great.

you should ask this on the Gulf Coast board......under North American Homeports like this one.....i will ask the moderators to move it there for you.
