We are thinking about trying P & O next (as you can see by our signature line, we are not very "brand loyal"). The few British passengers we've met on the American cruise ships have been wonderful, and we still stay in touch with a couple from Newcastle. Overall, do you Brits enjoy travelling with us Yanks? We think it would be fun to come to England for a few days, soak up some of your culture, and then continue on with a ship full of you fun-loving folks! Martha and Mike

I am sure you would be most welcome on one of the P & O ships. We have travelled with them mostly since 1995 and have enjoyed every single one. A lot of us enjoy the deck games (shuffleboard, quoits etc.,) and it is a great way to meet people. We have also been on Celebrity, Royal Caribbean and Carnival and have met some wonderful Americans. Come on over!

Martha and Mike.. nice to see a post from you on this board! I cant see why P&O shouldnt actively seek bookings from the US as well as UK. I like the idea of meeting people from all walks of life and countries. That is perhaps why some of the other cruise lines are frequented more by an International clientel. P&O is a UK line and try to uphold the sense of "Traditional British Cruises". Stiff upper lip and all that! Tally-ho!

Lets mingle! Maybe there is a business opportunity there.. Online Cruise agency, dedicated to setup fly-cruises drive-cruise connections for US-UK and UK-US.... hmmm !;) For ppl like yourselves on these here message boards!

Welcome to Martha and Mike

We've sailed lots on Princess and Royal Caribbean, but have booked our first P&O cruise for 2005. One of the downsides is the fact that we won't be surrounded by Americans :D We have met some great people over the years and are still in touch with a couple we met on the Dawn Princess in 1999. When they heard we were sailing from San Diego in 2002, they thought nothing of driving for 10hours from San Jose to meet up with us for a day (that is a vast distance in the UK)

It would be great if Princess and P&O would link their computers to enable us all to book both lines

Reference linking P&O's and Princess's computers - that has been long rumored.

When we were on Pacific Princess (new) last November, Papeete to Sydney, we were told that that was one change Carnival hoped to have in place in the not too distant future.

I sailed twice on the "old" Oriana, and have looked long and hard at the new Oriana, or perhaps Aurora, through the Suez.

Very few travel agents in the US handle P&O - hopefully that will change.

Michael
