Let me add that St Mary Star of the Seas is a lovely church. All the side doors are left open for masses. When there is a good breeze, it wafts right through.

 

You should not miss the Lourdes-style grotto. At the start of hurricane season, many locals, even non-Catholics, light a acndle there to pray for hurricanes to avoid Key West.

 

There is also a cemetery near the grotto where some of the nuns from the past of the chruch are buried.
