Anyone have info on San Diego area fires? I assume many posters are from that area and hope all are safe. My daughter is there and says it's pretty bad.

Better today, but smokey and really bad air, and the number of displaced people now disipating, but the number of total loss home increasing, is not a good place to be right now.

We are in the San Francisco Bay Area and just started noticing the smoke in the air today. This is about 350-400 miles away and it is making it all the way up here....they must be really bad. I was in the Oakland Hills fire several years ago and it was horrible and it sounds as though this is even a worse fire than that one, which also was in October. We're praying for you guys up here!! Hope no more homes are destroyed and no more loss of life is seen!!

it is really bad air and it is devestating for all the homes lost and the San Diego area was just hit hard by fires in 2003

Things are getting a little better. We have alot of help now and the winds are calming down which is a big plus! I live about 15 mins away from the International Border (San Diego/Tijuana) and thankfully we are no longer in danger as of yesterday in the afternoon.

 

Many residents are now able to go back to their homes.
