San Juan,St Thos/Christmas Eve and Day

Our cruise will be in :

San Juan Christmas Eve (5pm - midnight)

St Thomas Christmas Day (8am-5pm)

Just wondering if anyone has been in either of these ports on these holidays, and if so, what is open. Might just have to make it a beach day in st thos (have been there before), but wondering if any shops will be open or do we just have the option of the cruise ship excursions:confused:
