disembarking in NYC

I see in information guide ,that once you pick up your bags in the hall, you go outside and get in line for a taxi. Could someone ,who has had this experience , please let me know just how long the wait is for a taxi. I would presume that there are plenty?

Hi Zil,

We have come into the NYC terminal several times and although we have had a private car service meet us friends that we were with were taking a taxi. Their wait was short both times, no more than 5 minutes but please keep in mind that on those two occasions it was weekend days.

The problem with the NYC port did not seem to be with the # of cabs but rather it was trying manuver through the congestion getting into and leaving the port. An easier thing to do after exiting the terminal would be to just keep walking straight ahead to the Avenue and cross to the other side. You can flag a cab down there and avoid a significant portion of the traffic. Hope this helps.
