when you book a future cruise while your on a cruise? We'll be cruising on the Vision in April, however we would like to book for the following year when the larger ship takes over. Just wondering if you really do save a lot.

You get between $50 and $200 in OBC. 7 night would be $100 OBC.

You can either book a definite sailing, or use "nextcruise" and pick sailing date later but qualify for OBC.

We always book onboard...when we can...and always book early...

When we were on the Liberty of the Seas in June/July, we booked 2 cruises--Vision of the Seas for March and Celebrity Constellation for July...

We received a $100 OBC toward the Vision and a $200 OBC toward the Connie...

(We also had both assigned to our TA who added additional OBCs to each)

Since that booking, the price of our Vision cruise has stayed constant...

But, the price of our Constellation cruise has gone UP $400...PLUS, by booking over a year early, we got to choose our cabin...If you go onto the Celebrity website now, for our cruise, the Veranda cabins are completely sold out as are several other categories...

So. my advice is to always book next year's cruises while onboard this year...

If prices go down, you can take advantage of the drop...

If you end up having to cancel, you still get a full refund up until full payment date...

You get the benefit of early pricing plus cabin selection AND that OBC...

The only negative is that you put down a deposit now...but, think about it, at today's interest rates, checking acount interest on that $500 amounts to pennies a month...

It can work out, to your advantage. We booked another cruise while on board and received 200.00 OBC plus a coupon 125.00 since we booked more than a year in advance the cruise price went up 100.00 per person.

We booked our upcoming Voyager cruise while we were on the Rhapsody in Nov. 2006. We recieved a $100 OBC and a discount off our balcony cabin! I just paid the final payment for this cruise and our cruise would have cost us approx $500 pp more if we booked it now! I have always gotten a better deal by booking a year in advance!
